Privacy Policy

Halo stores the information you choose to put on your digital business card: your name, and optionally your company, title, email, phone, LINE ID, LinkedIn, Instagram, a profile photo, and a cover image.

When someone sends you their card through your Halo page, we store the details they submit (name, company, title, contact info, and any note) so they appear in your inbox. Contacts you add by scanning a paper card are stored the same way, along with the photo you took — see below.

When you scan a paper card, the photo is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which reads the text on it and returns the contact details. The image is used only to extract those details for you. It is not used to train AI models, and it is not shared with anyone else.

The photo is then stored with the contact in your inbox, so you can see the original card later. Deleting the contact deletes the photo.

The person whose card you scan may not be a Halo user. Please only scan cards that were given to you, and use the details the way that person would expect.

Solely to run Halo: showing your card at your public link, delivering contacts to your inbox, and generating exports you request. We do not sell your data, run ads, or share your information with third parties for marketing.

If you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple account identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email — used only to link your card to your account so you can recover it on a new device.

We use PostHog to understand how Halo is used — which features people reach, and where they get stuck. We send only actions and counts, never the content of your card or your inbox. No names, emails, phone numbers, or notes ever leave the app as analytics.

On this website, PostHog gives us privacy-friendly analytics: page views, referrers, approximate location derived from your IP address (which is not stored), and device type. We don't use analytics cookies or store identifiers on your device, so visits aren't tracked across sessions, and analytics are never linked to your name, email, or card contents. To improve the site we also record anonymized sessions of how pages are used; everything you type and the personal details shown on cards are masked in your browser before anything is sent.

In the Halo app there is no session recording, and nowhere is there advertising or cross-app tracking, so Halo does not ask for tracking permission.

Halo Pro is billed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active; it receives an identifier for your card and the purchase details from Apple. We never see or store your payment information.

Data is stored with Supabase (hosted infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest). Your card's public page shows only the fields you chose to share; your inbox is private to you.

The services we rely on to run Halo are Supabase (storage), Anthropic (card scanning), RevenueCat (subscriptions), and PostHog (analytics). We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for marketing.

In the Halo app, go to More → Delete account. This permanently removes your card, your account, and every contact you've collected. You can also email us to request deletion.
